A predictive dialer dials a list of telephone numbers and connects live answered calls to live agents. Predictive Dialers typically dial on more lines than there agents to maximize the amount of time that the agents are talking to prospects. Predictive Dialers screen out disconnected numbers, no answers, busys, and answering machines/voicemail so that only live calls are transferred to the agent.
The delay heard on some telemarketing calls:
hello…Hello….HELLO… before an agents responds is caused by the time it takes a predictive dialer to determine if a call is answered live and then transfer that call to an agent. Today’s consumers are familiar with this delay, know what it means and will often hang up before talking to anyone OR will stay on the line long enough to tell the rep not to call them anymore. PowerDialerPlus does NOT have this delay and is much more effective at getting most out of your lead list and starting the call off right.
Predictive Dialers are Automated Telephone Dialing Systems (ATDS) and as such are regulated by the TCPA rules effective 10/16/13 prohibiting the use of ATDS to call cell phones. Predicitve Dialers also have many more dropped or abandoned calls than a Power Dialer because when dialing on more lines than you have agents if you get 2 live answers and you only have 1 agent available then 1 of the calls will be dropped, EVEN if you play a recorded message.
