A call in which the call originator abandons, disconnects, or hangs up the call after the call is answered, but before the call is established. Outbound calls are usually abandoned because the call is disconnected by the automated dialer or automatic call distributor when a live contact has been made but no agent was available to take the call. This problem is in normally caused by a system such as a predictive dialer or any type of dialer that is dialing on more lines than there are agents available.
In an Abandoned Call, a connection is made with the recipient, but the caller or automatic dialer system terminates the call before any proper communication is established. Even if a pre-recorded message is played to the call recipient, it is still considered an abandoned call.
With Power Dialer Plus abandoned calls don’t happen since it is only calling on 1 line at a time and the agent is in control of the call. There is also no delay when the call is answered.
